My recent work in still life photography has lead to requests for examples of macro work… and it’s harder than it looks. Backgrounds become less of an issue since you’re working in so close but it’s the sharp, sharp detail throughout the image that becomes critical. The safety pin is a composite of 13 images due to its tiny size. The pen, however (lots of pins and pens here) being a bit larger I was able to get the image sharp throughout with just five images.
